How to Calculate Weight of Concentric Reducer

Both eccentric & concentric reducer are belong to steel pipe reducer, they also have same weight chart and calculation formula, but the shape is different.

Concentric Reducer Weight Calculation Formula

The steel pipe reducer weight formula is 0.02466 * S <(D+d)/2 – S> * H / 1000
D = Large end diameter in mm.
d = Small end diameter in mm.
S = Large end Thickness in mm.
H = Height from end to end.

If we want to calculate the weight by formula, we need to know above 4 factors. Where can you get them? Usually we get the them from pipe reducer dimensions.

Take all above chart, we can calculate the weight now. For example, “Concentric Reducer Weld 12 x 10 Inch 15mm BW ASTM A860 WPHY 52 ASME B16.9″. From above chart, we know the below information.
Large end diameter : 323.9mm
Small end diameter : 273.1mm
Large end thickness : 15mm
Height from end to end : 203mm
Now we take these sizes into weight formula. 0.02466 x 15 <(323.9+273.1)/2 – 15> x 203 / 1000 = 21.3kg
