316 stainless steel pipe is a common austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance. It is widely used in industrial and residential applications. It is made from 304 stainless steel with the addition of 2%–3% molybdenum (Mo), which significantly improves its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments. It outperforms 304 and 310 stainless steel, particularly in environments with sulfuric acid concentrations below 15% or above 85%, as well as in chloride-containing corrosion conditions. It is extensively applied in industries such as papermaking, dyeing, heat exchangers, and coastal construction. Contact us

Grades TP304H, TP309H, TP309HCb, TP310H, TP310HCb, TP316H, TP321H, TP347H, and TP348H are modifications of Grades TP304, TP309Cb, TP309S, TP310Cb, TP310S, TP316, TP321, TP347, and TP348, and are intended for high-temperature service.
Table X1.1 lists the standardized dimensions of welded and seamless stainless steel pipe as shown in ANSI B36.19. These dimensions are also applicable to heavily cold worked pipe. Pipe having other dimensions may be furnished provided such pipe complies with all other requirements of this specification.
Features of 316 Stainless Steel Pipe
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Due to the addition of molybdenum in its composition, 316 stainless steel pipe exhibits superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments and acidic media compared to 304 stainless steel. This is attributed to the stable passivation film formed on its surface, which effectively inhibits oxidative reactions. Therefore, it maintains excellent corrosion resistance in acidic, alkaline, and saline media, making it particularly suitable for marine, chemical, and chlorine-containing environments.
Excellent High-Temperature Performance
316 stainless steel pipe retains its strength and stability at high temperatures, capable of operating normally under intermittent use at 870°C and continuous use at 925°C, making it ideal for high-temperature piping systems.
Superior mechanical properties
Compared to 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel has higher tensile strength and toughness, enabling it to withstand significant pressure and impact without deformation or fracture. It is commonly used in applications requiring pressure resistance and impact resistance.
Excellent welding and processing properties
316 stainless steel pipe is compatible with various welding processes and can be easily bent, stretched, and formed during processing, meeting complex manufacturing and installation requirements.
Aesthetic and durable
Its surface is smooth and visually appealing, and it does not rust or discolor over time, maintaining a lasting luster and excellent decorative effect.

316 Stainless Steel Pipe Production Process
1. Smelting: Iron ore and alloying elements such as chromium and nickel are smelted into stainless steel ingots in an electric furnace or open-hearth furnace.
2. Hot Rolling: The ingots are heated and then rolled to form stainless steel plates.
3. Cold Rolling: Stainless steel sheets undergo multiple cold rolling cycles to gradually reduce thickness and increase strength and hardness.
4. Annealing: This eliminates internal stresses generated during the rolling process and improves ductility and toughness.
5. tainless Steel Pipe Manufacturing: We manufacture welded or seamless pipes according to customer specifications.
6. Quality Inspection: The finished 316 stainless steel pipes are quality inspected to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
7. Surface treatment: polishing, brushing, sandblasting and other surface treatments to enhance aesthetics and corrosion resistance.
8. Packaging and Transportation: The finished stainless steel pipes are packaged and delivered to customers using appropriate transportation methods.
