On June 26, 2025, an old customer of our company sent us an inquiry for ASTM A106B Galvanized Seamless Pipe. After the quotation was completed, the customer placed an order with us on the same day.
ZIZI is a company specializing in the production and processing of pipes and fittings. The pipes and pipe fittings we produce are mainly used in chemical, petroleum, natural gas, water conservancy, electric power, marine engineering and other fields. The products mainly include seamless pipes, welded pipes, butt-welded pipe fittings, high-pressure forged pipe fittings and flanges of various sizes. The materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low-temperature steel, duplex steel, base alloy, etc.
What Is A106B Galvanized Pipe?
ASTM A106B Galvanized Seamless Pipe means that dip A106B pipes into hot liquid zinc to form a coating at both the outside and the inside of the pipe. The process is called hot dip galvanization. The zinc coating prevent pipes away form corrosion and rust. The galvanized pipe shows long lasting durability, improved resistance to corrosion compared to other carbon steel pipes. Besides, they are still provided in a relatively cheap price with better performance.
Galvanized carbon steel pipes are commonly applied in sewerage applications, firefighting, and general plumbing systems.
Dimensional Inspection
Outside Diameter (OD): Measure the outside diameter of the pipe using calipers or a feeler gauge to ensure that it is within the tolerance allowed by ASTM A106B Galvanized Seamless Pipe(typically ±1% of OD or less).
Wall Thickness (WT): Measure the wall thickness of the pipe with an ultrasonic thickness gauge or gauge to ensure that it is not less than 12.5% underthickness of the nominal wall thickness.
Length: Check that the length of the tubing is as ordered.

Galvanizing Method
Hot-Dip Galvanizing: The steel pipe is immersed in molten zinc liquid to form a protective layer of zinc alloy and pure zinc on its surface. The coating formed in this way is thicker, has strong adhesion and good anti-corrosion effect. This is the most common way to galvanize steel pipes.
Electrogalvanizing: Galvanizing the surface of the steel pipe by electrochemical method, the coating is thinner and may look smoother, but the anti-corrosion performance is not as good as hot-dip galvanizing.
Why Galvanized?
ASTM A106B Galvanized Seamless Pipe can significantly improve their service life and environmental adaptability:
Enhanced corrosion resistance: suitable for hot, humid, acidic or salty environments
Low maintenance cost: the service life of the galvanized layer is up to 20~50 years
Beautiful appearance: bright surface, suitable for partially exposed pipes
Strong economical: lower cost compared with stainless steel pipes
Applications
Industrial boilers and heat exchange systems
Fluid transportation in the oil and gas industry
Condensate pipes for air conditioning systems
Fire protection pipe network systems
Pipes for buildings and structures
