American customer continues to buy CONCENTRIC REDUCER SEAMLESS 8″ x 4″ / THK 0.325″ X 0.375″ HEIGHT 6″ ASTM A234 WPB ASEM B16.9 from ZIZI ENGINEERING.

A concentric reducer is used to join pipe sections or tube sections on the same axis. The concentric reducer is cone-shaped, and is used when there is a shift in diameter between pipes.

Inpection of 8″ X 4″ Concentric Pipe Reducer

The concentric pipe reducer is produced according to ASME B16.9 Standard, it covers overall dimensions, tolerances, ratings, testing, and markings for factory-made wrought buttwelding fittings in sizes NPS 1 ∕ 2 through NPS 48 (DN 15 through DN 1200). It covers fittings of any producible wall thickness.

Concentric Reducer 8″ x 4″ / Thk 0.325″ X 0.375″ Height 6″ in millimetre size is OD219.1 x 114.3 / T 8.25 x 9.5mm – H152.4mm. The tolerance is stated in ASME B16.9 as following
OD 219.1 +2.4mm / -1.6mm
OD 114.3 +1.6mm
T 8.25 x 9.5mm ( ± 12.5%)
H 152.4 + 2mm

Inspection of 8 x 4 Concentric Reducer

The actual size is 220.1 x 114.5mm / 8.33mm x 9.72mm- H 153.2mm after our inspection. They are toally in tolerance.

How to Pack Carbon Steel Concentric Reducer

We do blasting and painting for carbon steel ASTM A234 WPB concentric reducer fittings against rust during the shipment. After the primer is dried, wrapping the plstick film on the body of reducing fittings. Finally line them into wooden case accordingly.

Both eccentric & concentric reducer are belong to steel pipe reducer, they also have same weight chart and calculation formula, but the shape is different.

Concentric Reducer Weight Calculation Formula

The steel pipe reducer weight formula is 0.02466 * S <(D+d)/2 – S> * H / 1000
D = Large end diameter in mm.
d = Small end diameter in mm.
S = Large end Thickness in mm.
H = Height from end to end.

If we want to calculate the weight by formula, we need to know above 4 factors. Where can you get them? Usually we get the them from pipe reducer dimensions.

Small end diameter : 273.1mm
Large end thickness : 15mm
Height from end to end : 203mm
Now we take these sizes into weight formula. 0.02466 x 15 <(323.9+273.1)/2 – 15> x 203 / 1000 = 21.3kg
