Full Coupling VS Half Coupling

Full Coupling

Connection Methods

Threaded Full Coupling: Both ends are internally threaded and are used to connect two pipes that are externally threaded.

Socket Weld Full Coupling: Both ends are socketed for insertion into two pipes, which are then joined by a fillet weld.

Advantages

Easy to install: Quick installation without welding for threaded connections.

Versatility: Can be used in a wide range of pipe connection scenarios.

Simple maintenance: Threaded connections are easy to remove and replace.

Half Coupling

Connections
Threaded Half Coupling: The threaded end is used for connecting branch lines, instruments or accessories, the smooth end is butt-welded to the main line or vessel wall.

Socket Weld Half Coupling: The socketed end is used to socket weld a branch line, the smooth end is butt-welded to the main line or vessel wall.

Advantages

No need to disconnect the main line: Branches can be easily added without interrupting the fluid flow in the main line.

Saves space: Half-joints take up less space than, for example, the use of tees.

Lower cost: For simple branch connections, it is often more economical than using tees or openers with flanges.

Good sealing: Welded connections provide a reliable seal and are suitable for high pressure systems.

Class 3000 Pipe Fittings

Standard

Class 3000 LB pipe fittings are conformed to specification of ASME B16.11, BS3799, MSS SP 75, MSS SP 83, MSS SP 95. There are steel pipe coupling, plug, cap, bushing, nipple, elbow, tee and cross.

Package

We marked all Alloy Steel Forged Fittings with Grade, Lot No, Size, Standard and Pressure. The workers will sleeve ASTM A182 F11 socket weld full couplings 3000 LB into plastic bag individually, put them in cartons and wooden cases, finally bundled wooden cases with nylon rope.

Inspection

Visual the surface of socket weld coupling body. Such as dents, die marks, porosity, undercuts.

Measure dimensions. Such as diameter, wall thickness, and dimensions of the socket.

Check the marking of branch outlet fittings. Such as size, material code, grade, pressure, heat no.
