Carbon Steel Forged Fittings in Socket Weld & Threaded Class 3000 & 6000 LB.

SKU: SH167 Category:
General Details

Carbon Steel Forged Fittings have some extremely outstanding features like low-cost maintenance, corrosion resistance, high durability and strength.

End connections of fittings are required to comply with pipe ends, either socket weld to plain end, or NPT & BSP screwed end. Combined connection such as socket weld x threaded can be customized upon request.

Standard

Forged steel fittings are made in accordance with ASME B16.11, MSS-SP-79\83\95\97, and BS3799 standards. Forged pipe fittings are used to build connection, between nominal bore schedule pipe and pipelines.

ASTM A105 / A105M – Standard specification for forged fittings, and parts for high-temperature service.
ASME B16.11 – This standard covers ratings, dimensions, tolerances, marking and material requirements for socket-welding and threaded forged fittings.
MSS SP-83 – Class 3000 and 6000 pipe unions in both socket welding and threaded.
MSS SP-95 – This standard covers dimensions, finish, tolerances, marking, and material for carbon steel and alloy steel swaged nipples (concentric and eccentric), NPS 1/4 to NPS 12 and threaded plugs NPS 1/8 to NPS 12.
BS3799 – Specification for screwed and socket weld pipe fittings for the petroleum industry.

Ordering

When you are purchasing forged steel fittings, you need to know some details, such as size, pressure rating, material, type and end connection. There is no need to specify seamless/welded construction, because they are forged. Seamless and welded type are applied to butt weld fittings.

Process

Carbon Steel Forged Fittings Manufacturing Process

Forged Fittings Manufacturing Process

From the name we can know that is Forging. This process of forging, heats carbon steel that is placed between dies, which molds the heated piece of steel into its desired shape. This shape is then bored and machined into a forged steel fitting.

Material

Forged pipe fittings are typically available in two materials: carbon steel (ASTM A105 material spec), and stainless steel SS316 (ASTM A182 material spec). The surface of carbon steel A105 forged pipe fittings may be further reinforced against corrosion through galvanizing. This is an optional add-on which customers may include at an additional cost.

Marking & Packing

To make sure there is no damage during transit, we pack them into cartons and wooden cases. All carbon steel forged fittings are marked with logo, size, grade and heat No. We also can do customized marking as customer’s request.
