Equal Tee VS Reducing Tee

Both of Them are available in butt weld, socket weld and threaded types. Equal Tee is also called straight tee, it means three branches are same. Reducing tee means the branch diameter is smaller than run pipe diameter.  For example, when describe it as reducing tee 2″ x 1″ NPT Class 3000 ASME B16.11, that means the run pipe diameter is 2″ and branch diameter is 1″.

Package of NPT Pipe Fittings

We marked Stainless Steel Equal Tee as ” 3/4″ 6000# NPT A182 F316 168″. The workers sleeved 3/4″ NPT Tee SS 316 into plastic bag individually, put all of them into cartons and wooden cases, then bundled package with nylon rope.

Clear labels are tagged on the outside of the package for easy identification of the quantity and product. Great care is taken during operation and transportation.

How to Inspect Threaded Equal Tee

  1. Visual the surface. Such as dents, die marks, porosity, undercuts.
  2. Check the marking. Such as size, material grade, pressure, thread type, heat No.
  3. Measure dimensions. Such as outside diameter, thread length, height from end to end.
  4. Test the chemical composition of stainless steel threaded tee.
  5. Test the thread by go/no gauge
